The FG-120G is an AI-powered Next-Generation Firewall engineered for mid-size enterprises, campus branches and colocation edges that require 39 Gbps firewall throughput without sacrificing inspection depth. Built on Fortinet SP5 security processors and FortiOS, this 1RU appliance converges routing, switching, secure SD-WAN, universal ZTNA and AI-driven threat prevention into one platform, so a single Next-Generation Firewall policy set protects every segment of a hybrid network.
Security inspection runs at wire speed. The FG-120G sustains 5.3 Gbps IPS, 3.1 Gbps NGFW and 2.8 Gbps threat protection, with 3 Gbps SSL inspection so encrypted traffic is decrypted, inspected and re-encrypted in real time. Four 10GE SFP+ FortiLink slots carry uplinks to the core or to FortiSwitch stacks, while 16 hardware-accelerated GE RJ45 switch ports and 8 GE SFP slots connect access devices, servers and WAN links directly. Dual built-in AC power supplies provide 1+1 redundancy for branch sites where a failed PSU must never become an outage.

A: The unit forwards 39 Gbps of firewall traffic and still sustains 5.3 Gbps IPS, 3.1 Gbps NGFW and 2.8 Gbps threat protection, so the Next-Generation Firewall keeps inspection on for every session instead of bypassing policies under load.
A: Yes. Two built-in AC power supplies run in a 1+1 configuration, drawing 38 W average and 40 W maximum, so a single PSU failure does not interrupt the 39 Gbps data path.
A: They are hardware-accelerated 10GE uplinks for core connectivity and FortiLink management of FortiSwitch stacks, supporting up to 48 FortiSwitches and 128 FortiAPs from one AI-powered firewall.
A: Mid-size enterprise campuses, retail and branch rollouts needing secure SD-WAN, colocation edges requiring tenant segmentation, and managed service providers running up to 10 virtual domains on one appliance.
